Sometimes when we look at things that are entirely random, we see things that aren’t there. We might look at a cloud and see an animal, or look at an electric socket and see a smiling face. This phenomenon of imagining faces on random objects is called pareidolia. Fascinatingly, how our brain reacts when we see a happy child is similar to how we react to pareidolia.
