Every day, we hear so much bad news from all over the world, be it related to people, animals, and even the environment. However, as the popular quote goes, every dark cloud has a silver lining. This may not be true always, but it doesn’t hurt to look on the bright side, isn’t it? Either way, this story about an abandoned baby who was rescued by pups will surely make you feel a rollercoaster of emotions.
A newborn baby girl was left alone in a field in a village called Lormi in Chhattisgarh province, India. The poor baby was abandoned amidst the really cold weather. However, fortunately, a litter of puppies found her and kept her warm throughout the night, protecting her from the cold.
When the locals found the baby, she was entirely unharmed and the pups were all snuggled up next to her. When the baby girl was found, her umbilical cord was still attached to her.
The villagers claim that they found the baby at around 11 in the morning when it was crying while lying next to puppies. Then they informed the health department who took the baby to the hospital in order to conduct additional check-ups. There’s no doubt that what kept the baby alive through the night was the warmth from the pups and their mother. The baby was later named “Akanksha.”
There’s nothing crueler than abandoning a newborn in the wild. At the moment, authorities have launched an investigation to find the child’s parents. It is a miracle that Akanksha survived, and we wish her a much easier and better life ahead.
