When we look at pictures taken by professional photographers, they look incredibly natural and effortless. But if you ever bother to check out their behind-the-scenes, you will notice their imperfections and the struggles they go through to capture striking shots. Also, then you will realize how much work they put in to get a flawless outcome. Ibor Edosa Victor, an award-winning photographer from Lagos, Nigeria, shared the behind-the-scenes of one of his series. Victor shares the actual setup used for the photo in one image, and surprisingly, these setups often don’t appear ideal for taking stunning pictures. However, he then follows up with the final products that look absolutely breathtaking. This shows how much of a difference is made by imaginative and creative post-production processing, as the final images look like they came straight out of a fairytale.
These comparisons are proof that no matter how challenging the settings and conditions are, they can’t stop Victor from photographing striking pictures. In one photo, we can see a young man staring dreamily at a couple of whales inside an aquarium. However, in the behind-the-scenes photo, the boy is just sitting inside a room, staring out of a glass window. Water and the whales are nowhere to be seen. Can you imagine that this was how the stunning picture was created?
As a piece of advice to aspiring photographers, Victor states that chasing money and fame is not good, as those are the rewards of creativity. He encourages young creative photographers to focus on refining their craft and build a portfolio.
