The NYC Dance Project is a photography series that started in 2014, and it explores the beauty, grace, and elegant movements of dancers. The beginning of this amazing project was when Ken Browar and Deborah Ory teamed up to photograph contemporary dancers for a personal project. Browar is a respected fashion photographer, and Ory is a dancer who also does editorial photography. Their incredible photos gained fame and success through the dance communities and social media, giving rise to the NYC Dance Project.
The duo launched a book titled The Art of Movement which comprises over 300 pages. Extremely captivating photographs and interviews of over 70 magnificent dancers from across the world are featured in this book. Some of the reputed dance studios mentioned in the book include the American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, etc. While some images are photographed in bright colors, the rest are captured in an intense black and white. The absolutely mesmerizing photographs highlight the detailed and artistic nature of dance. In each photograph, dance professionals are striking unimaginable poses with ease, demonstrating their strength, skills, and passion. So, check out the images below and let us know your thoughts about these elegant photographs in the comments.
