Well, Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards is a competition dedicated to just that. Like every year, its entries for 2022 are a real feast to the eyes. Winners of this competition are selected according to various categories including creatures of the land, creatures of the air, creatures of the sea, a junior award for 18 or younger photographers, a people’s choice award, and an internet portfolio award.
The top prize for the overall winner was claimed by Jennifer Hadley, a photographer from Virginia. Her photo was captured in the Serengeti region of Tanzania, and it showcased a 3-month-old lion cub tumbling out of a tree. She says that while such moments are unpredictable, photographers are always prepared for the unexpected. She says that it’s important for the photographer to predict how the animal will move and position itself accordingly. Also, she elaborates on the importance of figuring out the position of light and how it affects the speed of your camera. Despite winning the competition, Hadley has been working a corporate job till last year. In 2021, she took a leap of faith and started pursuing wildlife photography full-time.
