All animals, no matter what species they belong to or where they live, have their own problems. These can be directly or indirectly caused by humans or even other animals. We as humans may not relate to them. However, whenever we come across a troubled animal, we should always try to help them as much as we can. It may only take very little effort of ours. However, it can mean everything to the animal.
This is also such a heartwarming story. Earlier this week, off the coast of Tasmania, a fisherman came across something unusual. It was none other than a large loggerhead sea turtle. However, the giant was covered by barnacles all over his body, and the fisherman immediately realized that it desperately needed help.
Although the turtle’s weight was about 220 pounds, it seemed to be very lethargic. In addition to being covered by barnacles, it couldn’t even submerge itself in the water. The fishermen understood that the turtle has been sick for some time.
A government organization called Marine Conservation Program (MCP) came forward to rescue the turtle after it was caught by the fishermen. They stated that finding marine turtles in Tasmania waters is a rare occurrence. They also said that this one is clearly unhealthy.
After temporarily accommodating the turtle at a fish market, it was taken for a veterinary exam the day after. It even got X-rays to check whether it has consumed plastic or fishing gear. Fortunately, he had dodged them. After giving him some strengthening fluids, rescuers picked the barnacles off of him, one by one.
