Hawk Is Very Confused As To Why This “Duck” Doesn’t Respond To Its Threats

We find wild animals endearing for many reasons. For example, if they’re fluffy, silly, playful, and lovable, we instantly adore them. How animals act when they’re confused is also very funny. There are drastic differences in the ways that humans and animals perceive and react to things. Take a look at this super-cute hawk who was completely confused over an ornamental duck, because it wasn’t responding to its threats.

The adorable video was uploaded by user Garybob on YouTube. It shows a hawk who was elated over finding a meal, only to discover that it was a plastic lawn ornament. Needless to say, an actual lone duck would’ve made a perfect meal for the hawk.

It doesn’t take long for the hawk to realize that something is off, and the bird starts displaying clear signs of suspicion and confusion. Then, it approaches the ornamental duck suddenly, only to get sternly rejected by its quite realistic plastic exterior.

However, the hawk is not the one to give up. The confused bird starts pacing and attacks the ornamental duck multiple times, trying hard to take it down using its sharp talons. While attacking, the hawk even looks out for other predators and potential food. This confused attack lasts for a good two minutes. After realizing that there’s nothing edible about this duck, the hawk abandons it and flies away.
