If you’ve ever considered having a Husky as a guard dog, I’m sure you’ll think twice after reading this story. This Husky, who’s the guard dog at a Thai jewel store, slept soundly throughout an armed robbery training session, proving that Huskys aren’t the best choice to keep as guard dogs.
The simulation took place at a jewel shop in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The CCTV footage shows the dog casually lying on the floor, ignoring the fake gun-wielding robber. The shop owner named Worawut Lomwanawong was eagerly waiting for the dog to stop the robber. The robber was even demanding money at gunpoint, but the Husky continued to keep his cool. Even when the store owner kept glancing at the dog, whispering under his breath in an attempt to wake the dog up, all of his efforts were useless.
Although the Husky cares about his sleep more than guarding the store, the owner finds his actions funny. He states that this simulation helped him gain a better understanding of the dog’s priorities. Whenever he tried to train the Husky how to react to such situations, the dog has always preferred sleep. The store owner even admitted that if the robbery took place for real, he would’ve been dead, which is sad yet funny. He continued: “He’d probably leave the robber if he was offered treats.”
The Husky definitely proved to be a useless guard dog, but no one can deny the cuteness of the adorable fluffball. Although the security simulation was a failure, the store owner adores the Husky a lot and loves to have him in the store.
