A few years ago, Maria Cassano came across a stray cat who was walking through the backyard while carrying a kitten. She was really worried if the mother was nourished enough to produce healthy milk for her kitten. At first, Maria’s father was pretty skeptical about taking care of stray cats. However, she succeeded in convincing him to look after the so-named “Mama the cat”, and Maria’s neighbor later adopted the kitten. Maria and her family continued to feed the stray cats in the area.
When winter arrived at Long Island, that’s when things got really harsh for the start felines. Fortunately, Maria’s dad came up with the perfect solution to ensure their safety. He suggested making a cat house for the stray felines. Although pets aren’t his favorite, he still tried to do the best he could to make sure that the stray felines are safe, which is truly endearing.
Maria’s dad is a crafty person, so he bought all the necessary things to build a heated cat house. This was built in their backyard. When Mama the cat gave birth to her second kitten, Maria’s dad went even further by inserting a night vision camera inside the cat house. This helps them ensure that the cats have safely gone to the cat’s house every night. You can check out the adorable pics from the night vision camera below.
When Maria had Mama the cat and kitten checked by a vet, she was told that although Mama the cat was healthy enough to make it through the winter, the kitten was not. So, she took the kitten in, and later, it was adopted by a loving family. At present, the comfortable is popular among many feral cats. Although the independent felines don’t come inside the house, the family finds great joy in sharing their backyard with the cats.
