Bobga is still so young, but for his young age, he has endured more than he should. When he was just a few weeks old, he was abandoned as he lost his family as a result of poaching. Due to this, Bobga had very few chances of surviving and was extremely scared, confused, and helpless. The baby gorilla was put in a small cage, likely to be traded on the black market. Fortunately, however, Bobga was rescued and was taken to the Limbe Wildlife Centre in Cameroon.

Although Bobga has never considered humans to be trustworthy before, he was able to find all the love and comfort he needed in a human. His perception of humans took a drastic turn after meeting Alvin Muma who’s a volunteer at the Limbe Wildlife Centre. Alvin knew that he will never be able to replace Bobga’s family. However, he did all he could to make Bobga feel loved and safe. Soon after, the two became inseparable.
