Parents Named Their Baby After A Internet Company for Free WiFi

The Internet is an expensive but necessary facility in today’s world. ISP’s – Internet Service Providers all over the world try different tactics to gain customer interest while customers too are trying every trick in the book to get the best deal out of them.

But, how far are you willing to go to get the best internet deal for you and your family?
Swiss internet provider Twifi is running a deal offering any couple that name their Child either Twifius or Twifia in exchange for free Twifi Wi-Fi until the child turns 18-years-old and becomes an adult.

On their website, they requested couples to simply upload a picture of their child’s civil birth certificate, and after confirmation, they will receive free internet.

The Swiss couple, aged 30 and 35, who prefers to remain unnamed, have taken them up this offer and given their baby girl the second middle name of Twifia.

“We want to remain anonymous to those around us because we don’t want to justify ourselves. Because the accusation of having sold our child’s name hits us very hard. We are also a little ashamed,” said the dad.

“The longer I thought about it, the more unique the name became for me, and that was when the thing got its charm,” said the dad.

Although the mom needed some time to come around to the idea, she has found a sweet meaning in it.

“And for me, the name Twifia also stands for connection in this context. For an eternal bond!” she said.”There are much worse names. And the more often we say ‘Twifia’, the heartier the name sounds!”

Philippe Fotsch, founder and CEO of Twifi, said that he will pay for the couple’s internet for the next 18 years even if his company goes bust:

“It’s a matter of honor” he added

Twifi’s offer is still open to new parents who want to name their newborns after it. You can find more information here.
