Sand Artist Creates Hyper Realistic Sculptures Of Animals

Art is literally everywhere, and it’s probably the most unique form of self-expression. The most beautiful thing about art is that artists can find inspiration in everything. Artists make use of a wide variety of media such as plain white paper, canvas, plumes, rocks, and sand, etc to summon their inner creative abilities.

Among various mind-blowing and challenging forms of art, sand art is one of the most underrated. There’s a common misconception among people that suggests that sand art is not ‘real’ art. Although they are extremely satisfying aesthetically, it’s very difficult to ship them elsewhere. Also, the artworks can only be kept for a short period of time. Due to these reasons, sand-art still hasn’t gained the recognition it truly deserves.

To every sculpture, Bastarrika adds some sort of ideal elements to make it appear more natural and practical. A wriggling whale, a dolphin on a wave, and a horse sitting on a slope are examples. These additions too are completely made out of the sand.

Bastarrika has been sculpting since 2010. He believes that sand sculpting helps to use the ‘fluidity of his hands’ in an ideal manner. He states that the reason he finds sand fascinating is that ‘every time you look at it, the sand can teach you something new’.

He further expressed his immense passion for his art on Facebook:
