Sometimes, animals can’t save themselves from the dangers they come across. In such instances, it is our duty as humans to do what we can to ensure their safety. Charity Webb, aged 29, is an Army Sergeant that used to work as a cook in Europe. When she was in Europe, she came across a homeless pup wandering around the camp. She was a stray dog. Webb could immediately see that she was pregnant after birthing a litter of pups. One of these pups caught Webb’s attention so she helped her.

The sergeant and the pup had a special warmth towards each other. The pup was friendly only with Webb. She was also the only person that could hold the pup calmly. If anybody else attempted to hold her, the pup would get agitated and start weeping.
In order to win the pup’s confidence, Webb spent weeks feeding her. With this, she could gain the pup’s trust and convince her that the soldiers will not harm her. Webb named her new friend ‘Pup Pup’.
Unfortunately, some dog catchers tried to harm the pup. So, Webb decided to keep the pup with her, to ensure her safety. The end of Webb’s deployment was a truly sad occasion because Webb had to leave the beloved pup. But, she was scared that the pup will be harmed after she left.
Luckily, upon her return to America, Webb learned about Paws of War. This is a non-profit rescue group that reunites troops with the animals that they looked after during their deployment. Paws of War runs entirely on donations. Therefore, although they accepted to help Webb, they had to wait till they got sufficient donations.
Thanks to the donations, Paws of Wars successfully raised $7,000 which was used to fly the pup to the USA. The pup and the sergeant’s reunion was truly heartwarming. After stepping out of the van, the pup started wagging her tail and rolling over in excitement. She was overjoyed to meet her new forever mama.
