This Vet Gives Free Treatment For Pets Of Homeless Owners

For homeless people who suffer lots of financial difficulties, affording healthcare, for themselves and their pets alike, is already a nightmare. However, some big-hearted people do whatever they can, big or small, to make this world a little better. Dr. Stewart Kwane, a self-professed ‘street veterinarian’ from California, is one such person.

Since 2011, he has dedicated his life to treating the pets of homeless people. What’s truly heartwarming about Dr.Kwane’s selfless act is that if the sick pets require any food or medicines, Dr. Kwane pays for them using his own money.

Dr. Kwane usually carries his medical bag with him, so that he’s ready to treat anybody in need. Eventually, the kindhearted doctor’s services started to become expensive. To gain enough monetary assistance for his mission, Dr. Kwane started a GoFundMe page.

Explaining his work, the selfless doctor states that the cost of minor treatments such as flea treatment, ear infections, vaccines, etc is around $100. However, the cost of more serious cases such as tumor removals can go up to $1,500.

No matter how much Dr. Kwane loves to help animals, some medical procedures can be extremely expensive. The story of a puppy named Dinker who suffers from a rare medical condition is one such example. Although the selfless doctor is doing his best to treat Dinker, he needs surgery from a specialist, which is very costly.

Dr, Kwane states that throughout his veterinary career, he has lived through lots of sincere stories of ‘love, compassion, struggle, and hope’. So, check out the pictures above and share your thoughts with us in the comments.
